Spaghetti Marshmallow β a physics tower-building puzzle
Dry spaghetti are your struts. Marshmallows are the glue. The wind never
stops. Build a tower that reaches every goal ring and holds it for three seconds
without collapsing.
This game needs JavaScript. Please enable it (or open
this page in a different browser) to play. Everything below describes the game.
How to play
- Drag to draw a strand of spaghetti. It has to start on an existing
marshmallow, so every strut is rooted in the structure.
- Tap or click to drop a marshmallow. It grips every strut it
overlaps, turning a crossing into a rigid node.
- Scroll or pinch to zoom; middle-drag, Space+drag or a
two-finger drag to pan.
- To win, get a marshmallow into every goal ring at the same time and hold
them all for three continuous seconds.
The physics is the game
It runs on a real Box2D physics engine, so nothing about the collapse is scripted. It
is, quietly, a structural-engineering simulator with pasta on top:
- Triangulation genuinely resists racking β a bare four-joint square folds under the
wind, but add one diagonal brace and it stands.
- Load has to path down through your struts to a fixed anchor, or the wind simply
walks the whole build away.
- Cantilevers fail at the root, because that is where the bending moment actually
concentrates.
- Spaghetti is elastic and snaps when the bending moment beats its strength.
Marshmallows never snap β they flow plastically like playdough, so an overloaded
joint droops and re-grips instead of failing.
What's in it
Eighty campaign levels across thirteen scene styles β day, night,
kitchen, beach, street, mall, dentist, space, volcano, castle, circus, mad lab and
caves. Each throws something at your tower: marshmallow-eating frogs, meatballs that
start fires, falling rocks, moving planks, bouncy mushrooms, windmills that blow your
build apart, alien saucers that zap your joints (and a marshmallow-fed laser turret to
shoot them down), time bombs, snakes, bats, spiders that web-wrap your spans, levers
and protection cages. There is also a weekly challenge, a level builder, star ratings
and a leaderboard.
Where to play
Free in your browser, no download β on desktop or mobile. Also available on
the App Store and
Google
Play.
